This means that one of every four Cebu City resident who died from Covid-19 from August 1 to 18 came from a mountain barangay.

Garganera said 30 deaths were reported in the northern mountain barangays of Cebu City while nine were from the southern mountain barangays. All were unvaccinated.

The mortalities were reported in Adlaon (3), Agsungot (1), Bacayan (7), Binaliw (4), Busay (7), Cambinocot (1), Guba (2), Pit-os (3), Pulangbato (1), Sirao (1), Babag (1), Buhisan (3), Buot (1), Kalunasan (3) and Sapangdaku (1).

The City Government has established a cluster clinic in Barangay Pit-os to cater to residents from the mountain villages. (JJL)
