4,000 citation tickets issued since January 1, 2023

FIFTEEN days since the start of 2023, the Cebu City Transportation Office (CCTO) has already issued more than 4,000 citation tickets to traffic violators.

A total of 453 motorcycles, 20 private vehicles, and 16 trisikads were also brought to the impounding facility of the CCTO, while a total of 361 vehicles were clamped.

CCTO head Raquel Arce told SunStar Cebu that during the Sinulog Festival Grand Parade last January 15, their team also conducted towing operation at the South Road Properties (SRP).

A total of 17 motorcycles and seven vehicles parked in undesignated areas were towed by the CCTO, said Arce.

The CCTO's operation during the Sinulog started at 2 a.m. and ended at 10 a.m. since their tow truck can no longer enter the parade route where the street dancing and parade were happening.

Arce urged all violators to settle their infractions immediately to avoid being sued in court. (IRT)
