THE Cebu City Government acquired four new fire and rescue trucks and turned them over to four barangays on Tuesday, March 23, 2021.

The barangays that received the fire trucks are Barangays Duljo-Fatima, San Roque, San Jose, and Calamba.

Cebu City Councilor Dave Tumulak said he requested funds for the purchase of the fire trucks from the Philippine Amusement and Gaming Corp. on behalf of the Cebu City Government and with the approval and support of Cebu City Mayor Edgardo Labella and the Cebu City Council.

According to Barangay Captain Elmer Abella of Duljo-Fatima, the fire trucks will help not only during fire incidents and emergencies but also in supplying water to their sitios during water supply interruptions.

Labella has assigned Councilors Tumulak, Joel Garganera, Renato “Junjun” Osmeña, and Raymond Alvin Garcia to lead the turnover. (NRC)
