AT LEAST 42 people were arrested in Minglanilla, Cebu on Tuesday, Oct. 6, 2020, for violating the town’s modified general community quarantine (MGCQ) protocol.
The MGCQ violators were released the day after they paid the P500 fine.
Police Staff Sergeant Aldin Traya of the Minglanilla Police Station told Sun Star Cebu that the 42 individuals were arrested for various violations. These include going out of their homes without quarantine passes, not wearing masks and face shields and not strictly following social distancing.
Aside from being required to pay a P500 fine, the 42 individuals were also educated by the police on the town’s health protocol.
Just before the 42 individuals were arrested, Minglanilla’s police force also arrested 50 individuals who violated MGCQ protocol. (BBT / JKV)
