5,000 people visit Cebu City cemeteries Tuesday morning

AROUND 5,000 people have so far visited the cemeteries in Cebu City since 5 a.m. Tuesday, November 1, 2022, said police.

Police Colonel Ireneo Dalogdog, director of Cebu City Police Office, said most of the visitors were noted in Calamba Cemetery, with about 2,000 people already as of noon Tuesday.

Dalogdog believes that more people will be visiting the cemeteries Tuesday afternoon as the country observes the All Saints’ Day Tuesday and All Souls’ Day on Wednesday, November 2.

The police have confiscated a number of knives and other blades weapons, but Dalogdog clarified that the people brought these to be used for cleaning the graves of their relatives and loved ones.

Peace and order have been maintained and no crime incidents have so far been reported, said police. (AYB/LMY)
