When we got a load of impeccably chic stylists in the same room for our latest High Street Collections shoot, we already knew we were in for some epic style inspiration. What we didn't expect, however, was that almost every single stylist would name the same fashion staple as the most useful piece in their wardrobe.

When we initially asked our fashonistas the following question: What’s the wardrobe staple piece that you couldn’t live without and why? Over half came back with the same response.

So what is the magical piece, you ask? The leather jacket.

"I would probably say my leather jacket, 100%. It’s a staple piece and I wear it with absolutely everything, all year round. There are just so many options you can do with a leather jacket." - Natasha, Zara

"It would probably be a leather jacket, because I have an oversized black leather jacket that I think saves any outfit. I’m not a girly-girl but I have really girly dresses that I like to toughen up by shrugging a leather jacket on over the top." - Janine, H&M

"I’m so basic. My absolute favourite wardrobe piece is my leather jacket. It’s the standard All Saints leather jacket, I’m obsessed with it. I feel quite sorry for it because it ends up quite battered but that lends it to it in another way." - Kelly, V by Very

"Leather jacket. I always go for a classic biker leather jacket. I have them in all sorts of colours. You could be going somewhere really glam but a cute leather jacket makes your outfit a bit edgier." - Afsheen, River Island

I, too, consider my All Saints leather jacket to be the most versatile item in my wardrobe bringing the leather jacket fashion stylist/editor fangirl group up to a notable five.
