542 nabbed in Lapu-Lapu City for violating health protocols, curfew

IN ITS strengthened campaign to penalize violators of health protocols and curfew, Lapu-Lapu City nabbed a total of 542 violators on March 4 and March 5, 2021.

The city fined the violators P1,000. Those who could not pay were ordered to render community service.

On March 6, those who had to render community service cleaned up the drainage and trash in Barangay Basak, Lapu-Lapu City.

Lapu-Lapu City Mayor Junard “Ahong” Chan disclosed this on March 7. He also said that violators will not be placed behind bars. Instead, they will be issued citation tickets.

Chan also revealed the top barangays in Lapu-Lapu City with highest number of coronavirus 2019 (Covid-19) cases:

• Basak – 155 cases

• Pajo – 75

• Babag – 70

• Mactan – 61

• Bangkal – 56

• Gun-ob – 52

• Marigondon – 31

• Pusok – 27

• Looc – 27

• Pajac – 25

• Agus – 24
