SIX employees from the Department of Education (DepEd) Division of Mandaue City have tested positive for Covid-19.
In the official statement of DepEd Mandaue City Superintendent Nimfa Bongo, the office has postponed its operations from June 11 to June 21, 2020 after some of its employees have tested positive for the virus.
The entire building of DepEd Mandaue City located on Plaridel St. in Brgy. Centro has been locked down for disinfection.
In a text message, Bongo told SunStar Cebu that they have disinfected the building twice since the lockdown period started.
Contact tracing has also been in place considering that it is a government office wherein exposure to the public is high.
With these measures, Bongo is asking for everyone’s understanding as they would also want to protect the health and safety of the rest of their workforce and the public.
Since they will not hold any office operations, Bongo said they will also postpone the receiving of documents intended for the Division.
For queries and other information, the public may email email@example.com.
Meanwhile, on June 1, the DepEd Mandaue City launched its Brigada Eskwela. However, the traditional Brigada Eskwela which involves painting, repainting and repairing will be done two weeks before the start of the classes on August 24.
The new focus of this year’s Brigada Eskwela amid the Covid-19 crisis is the learning continuity of the children. (KFD)
