6 nabbed for illegal numbers game

SIX persons involved in illegal numbers game were handcuffed in two separate police operations in southern and northern Cebu recently.

Those arrested were Reynaldo Villasurda, 57, Lowela Campaña, 41, and Timoteo Baruman, 46, all from San Fernando town, southern Cebu.

Another three persons were arrested in Tabogon, northern Cebu.

They are Rubbie Mae Aisha Roflo, 37, Ritchel Roflo, 39, and Ljobomer Talines, 43.

All suspects are “swertres” ushers, except for Talinis, who just placed a bet.

Seized from them were swertres stubs and cash amounting to P1,000.

According to Presidential Decree 1602, any person caught directly and indirectly caught in taking part in illegal gambling will face a fine of P500 to P2,000, while repeat offenders will be fined P1,000 to P6,000.
