THE Police Regional Office-Central Visayas joined the nation in commemorating the National Blood Donor's Month Monday, July 11, 2022.

Sixty-seven police personnel donated blood in the blood-letting activity held Monday in coordination with the Department of Health (DOH).

Police Lieutenant Colonel Mary Crystal Peralta, spokesperson of Police Brigadier General Roque Eduardo Dela Peña Vega, said July is National Blood Donors Month and the one-day event was conducted specifically for police personnel.

"In cooperation and partnership with DOH, this is a program where police personnel can voluntarily donate their blood," Peralta said.

"We know that blood brings life. It will give hope especially to our countrymen who are unfortunate o nangangailangan ng dugo and this is in relation to our 27th Police Community Month Celebration, so the police personnel are voluntarily donating blood as a social responsibility to our society," she added.

Peralta said the DOH will be the one to identify the beneficiaries of the blood, but assured that it will be given to less fortunate people, or those who cannot afford to buy supply from blood banks. (Ryan Megabon, CNU intern)
