A 69-YEAR-OLD widow and two others were arrested in a drug bust in Sitio Guimbaliwan, Barangay Can-asujan, Carcar City, southern Cebu on Thursday at 7:30 p.m., July 14, 2022.

Lieutenant Colonel Ardioleto Cabagnot, chief of Carcar City Police Station, identified the suspects as Maria Cuizon Yares, 69; her 46-year-old live-in partner Charlie Paninsoro, a person with disability (PWD); and drug runner Kevin Rafols, 24.

Cabagnot said in an interview with SunStar Cebu that they transacted for one pack of shabu worth P500 during the drug bust.

The anti-illegal drug operation yielded seven small packs and four medium packs of shabu weighing 20.40 grams with an estimated value of P138,720, P500 buy-bust money, and another P550 cash believed to be proceeds from the illegal drug trade.

Cabagnot said Yares can dispose at least 100 grams of shabu per week and her contact in the drug trade was her son at the New Bilibid Prison in Muntinlupa City, Metro Manila. (GPL, TPT)
