THE Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) 7 raided a drug den in Barangay Kamputhaw, Cebu City, and arrested seven individuals, including the “drug maintainer,” on Wednesday afternoon, July 14, 2021.

Running the drug den was Ronilo Palparan, alias Panter, 52, a widow. Other individuals arrested included Walter Empenida, 46, a steel fabricator; Joselito Dinglas, 39, a painter; Roderick Lumba, 47; Giocarlo Lumasag, 25, a call center agent; Dante Rivera, 45, a food delivery driver; and Carmel Cabrera Galgo, 23.

PDEA 7 seized 11 packets of what they believed to be shabu with a value of P74,800, buy-bust money, and various drug paraphernalia.

According to Leia Alcantara, PDEA 7 information officer, the agency spent two weeks building up the case after they received information about the drug den from a resident in the barangay.

The resident told PDEA 7 they noticed anyone would just enter Palparan’s house and verified that the house was made into a drug den.

PDEA 7 was assisted by the Provincial Intelligence Unit of the Cebu Police Provincial Office. (AYB)
