71-year-old man lands in hospital after being hacked by kin

A SEPTUAGENARIAN was injured after he was hacked by one of his relatives in Sitio Dobdob, Barangay Magsico in the southern town of San Fernando, Cebu on Saturday night, November 5, 2022.

The victim was identified as 71-year-old Rodrigo Manayaga Baringui-an, married, and a resident of the sitio.

He sustained multiple hack wounds in various parts of his body.

Police have yet to find the suspect, 45-year-old Samuel Tabale, also known as Burabog, who lives in Barangay Tubod in the same town.

They said Tabale was accompanied by an unidentified man wearing a black jacket and denim shorts during the incident, which happened around 11 p.m.

Based on the initial investigation conducted by Major Timothy Romanillos of the San Fernando Police Station, the motive for the hacking was personal grudge.

The victim is being treated at the Cebu Provincial Hospital in neighboring Carcar City. (GPL)
