MEMBERS of the Toledo City Police Station arrested the seventh most wanted person in the provincial level in Barangay Bunga around 9 a.m. on Saturday, January 21, 2023.
They identified the accused as 24-year-old Loida Marie Marino Rebecoy. She is charged with qualified theft and estafa.
The operation was led by Lieutenant Colonel Dennis de Guzman, station chief.
The warrant for qualified theft was issued by Toledo City Regional Trial Court (RTC) Branch 29 Judge Ruben Fermin Altubar, who didn’t recommend bail.
The warrant for the qualified theft through falsification of commercial documents was issued by Toledo City RTC Branch 59 Judge Judilyn Hugo Tapia-Menchavez, who set the bail at P600,000.
In the northern town of Consolacion, Cebu, the Provincial Intelligence Unit led by Lieutenant Colonel Mark Lester Eteroza conducted a buy bust in Sitio Upper Bagacay, Barangay Tayud at 1:15 a.m. on Saturday, which led to the arrest of Clemelnarjie Abuna Gabao, an ex-convict who resides in Sitio Lamac in the same barangay.
Police recovered 16 grams of shabu worth P108,800 from the suspect, whom they considered to be a high-value individual.
Gabato had been arrested before but he was released from jail after serving his sentence.
Two minutes earlier, police arrested 46-year-old Trinidad Laurel Caputolan Jr., alias Jojo, in Sitio Bungtod, Barangay Manlayag, Danao City.
Desk officer Staff Sergeant Jose Michael Alegado received a call around 12:45 a.m. from a concerned citizen who said Caputolan, a resident of the barangay, was manufacturing improvised firearms in the area.
According to the caller, the suspect operated late at night until the wee hours of the morning to escape detection.
Police seized from Caputolan different tools for making firearms and an unfinished firearm he was working on. (AYB)
