A recent survey of the Social Weather Stations (SWS) showed 85 percent of adult Filipinos are worried about catching the coronavirus disease (COVID-19).
The National Mobile Phone Survey conducted from July 3-6, found that 85 percent of adult Filipinos are “worried”; eight percent are “worried a little”, and seven percent are “not worried” that anyone in their immediate family might catch Covid-19.
“Compared to past SWS surveys, worry about catching the COVID-19 is greater than worries about catching previous viruses such as Ebola, Swine Flu, Bird Flu, and Severe Acute Respiratory Syndrome (SARS),” the SWS said.
Worry level about catching the COVID-19 is highest in Metro Manila at 92 percent, followed by Balance Luzon at 87 percent. Worry level in Visayas is at 85 percent while Mindanao is at 77 percent.
The survey was conducted from July 3-6 using mobile phone and computer-assisted telephone interviews (CATI) with 1,555 adult Filipinos, ages 18 years old and above. AAC
