12 new Covid-19 cases in Talisay City, Cebu

(UPDATED) Talisay City Mayor Gerald Anthony Gullas Jr. on Sunday, June 7, 2020, announced twelve new cases of the coronavirus disease (Covid-19) in the city.

The twelve new cases are residents of Barangays Tanke (two cases), San Roque (three), Tabunok (two), Bulacao (one), Maghaway (one) and Lawaan 1 (one), Cansojong (one), Linao (one).

This brought the total number of confirmed cases in the city to 79.

On Sunday morning, Gullas in his Facebook page divulged information about nine patients.

Patient Talisay (PT) 77 is a 61-year-old male from Tanke. He was admitted to a private hospital in Cebu City on May 30. His family of nine was placed on home quarantine on the same date. He is currently in stable condition.

PT48 is a 27-year-old pregnant woman from Tanke. She was admitted to a hospital last May 26 for delivery the following day. She was discharged on May 31 and is asymptomatic.

P49 is a 65-year-old male from San Roque. He was admitted to a private hospital in Cebu City on June 1. The patient is diabetic and hypertensive. His only home companion has been advised home quarantine.

P50 is a 34-year-old male from San Roque and works in Cebu city. He last came to Talisay on May 24 and has not been home since. He is currently isolated in a facility in Cebu.

PT51 is a 40-year-old male from Tabunok working at a hospital in Cebu. His department submitted for a routine swab test last June and results came in positive on Sunday. He will be quarantined at Talisay City's quarantine facility.

PT52 is a 30-year-old female from Bulacao. She is working at a hospital in Cebu. She showed symptoms of influenza-like illness. She was swabbed on June 4 and tested positive. She is currently staying at a hospital facility. Her family was advised to undergo home quarantine.

PT53 is a 27-year-old male from Tabunok. He was swabbed at a hospital as a protocol of his company before returning to work on June 2. The patient will be transferred to Talisay's quarantine facility.

PT54 is a 68-year-old patient from Maghaway. The patient reportedly experienced loose bowel movement, abdominal pain and cough on Saturday. He was brought to Vicente Sotto Memorial Medical Center and was swabbed on the same day. He is an asymptomatic patient.

PT55 is a 26-year-old female from Lawaan 1. She is a worker at a hospital in Cebu City. She was swab tested on Saturday together with her husband, who also works in the same hospital. Her husband tested negative. The two will be under home quarantine.

Gullas also announced at 8:51 p.m. three more cases of Covid-19 in Talisay City.

PT56 is a 56-year-old hospital worker in Cebu City from Barangay Cansojong. She was swabbed in the hospital on June 5 after being exposed to a positive case. She will be transferred to Talisay's isolation facility Sunday night.

PT57 is a 29-year-old female who is currently working from home in Barangay San Roque. She was swabbed on June 2 for ILI symptoms. She was swabbed by the Talisay City Health Office, which means she has been isolated from the community already. She has been on home quarantine since May 28.

PT58 is a 59-year-old male from Linao. He exhibited ILI symptoms and was swab tested by the Talisay City Health Office. He has been in quarantine since June 1.

On Sunday, the Department of Health announced 555 additional Covid-19 cases in the country, bringing the total number of cases to 21,895. It also announced nine new deaths and 89 new recoveries. (JGS)
