MINGLANILLA mayoral candidate and lawyer Rajiv Enad vows to implement inclusive governance and promote progress if he wins during the May 9, 2022 elections.

An estimated 10,000 attendess joined the rally of Abante Minglanilla held on Sunday, May 1, 2022, where Atty. Enad promised to pursue the town’s reclamation project, the pet project of incumbent mayor and now his runningmate, Elanito “Lani” Pena.

Atty. Enad, the leading mayorality aspirant in the recent local surveys, also said that once he wins the elections, he will prioritize the development of tourism ventures in Minglanilla.

One of the rally participants, Nestor Dela Calzada, a barangay leader from Lower Lipata, said the crowd is overwhelming, saying that this is the show of force among the “silent majority” of Minglanilla residents who went out to support Atty. Enad, who had been battling online fake news reportedly thrown by supporters of his rival.

“Dili ra unta mi mangilabut, apan karon panahon na nga mobarug gayud kami sa among suporta alang ni Mayor Enad ug Pena. Kapoy nag paminaw anang fake news ug bakakon nga block timer sa radio nga nag punay na lang og pandaut ni Atty. Rajiv Enad,” Dela Calzada added.

Dela Calzada, who brought with him some several multisectoral members in the rally, added that if the rival camp truly has plans for Minglanilla “then they should present it to the people, instead of painting false accusations against Atty. Enad.

A lawyer by profession, Atty. Enad is an incumbent municipal councilor who authored several welfare ordinances that includes the monthly and quarterly allowances for Sangguniang Kabataan (SK) officials, solo parents and persons With disabilities.

As a welfare advocate, Atty. Enad also helped pushed for the financial grants for barangay health workers and assistance to the town's puroks.

He is also the main proponent of the recent move to increase the monthly stipend for senior citizens from P1,000 to P4,000.

Atty. Enad, a former SK official, is now bannering the “Work, Play, Live” vision for Minglanilla which aims to build the town into a competitive locality, livable community and an attractive district.

This vision, according to Atty. Enad, who is a consistent number one town councilor, will generate progress and development through investment in infrastructure and education.

“No one will be left behind. Kitang tanan, mo-asenso. We will all live a livable community that is environmentally sound with strong basic services for all Minglanillahanons,” Atty. Enad said.

During the rally, Atty. Enad and Mayor Pena, along with his slate also presented their goals and plans if they win the 2022 election which is scheduled next week.

Re-electionist Cebu Governor Gwendolyn Garcia and Cebu First District congressional candidate Rhea Gullas also attended the rally. (Sponsored Content)
