AboitizInfra to host new tenants in Balamban project

ABOITIZINFRA Capital is set to welcome new tenants for its commercial project in Balamban, Cebu in the latter part of 2023.

AIC vice president for Economic Estates Cebu Operations Cyel Auza, in a media briefing, said part of the 39-hectare expansion in the West Cebu Estates are plans to put up its own commercial business district whose construction will start in 2023. It will have commercial areas as well as housing and dormitories.

“We will welcome new locators late next year,” she said, adding that the commercial business district is a critical component that will make Balamban a thriving destination.

The 39-hectare expansion in the West Cebu Estates is catering not just to heavy but also light and medium industries for a diversified locator mix.

The West Cebu Estate houses the West Cebu Industrial Park that is operated and developed by Cebu Industrial Park Developers Inc., a joint venture project of AboitizLand and Tsuneishi Holdings of Japan.

The expansion is said to bring an additional P2.5 billion inventory and will increase West Cebu Estate’s working population to 28,000.

AIC operates three economic estates—Mactan Economic Zone 2 Estate in Lapu-Lapu City, West Cebu Estate in Balamban, Cebu and the Lima Estate, its largest project in Lipa and Malvar, Batangas, which won a 5-star Berde-District Certification.

Auza said West Cebu Estate is also in the process of securing Berde certifications.
