Youth center

Alabel, Sarangani – The provincial government of Sarangani released funds amounting to P2.5-million for the construction of a technical and vocational competency training and assessment center in Malapatan town.

Governor Steve Solon said the facility will serve as a training center for out-of-school youths who will undergo skill training to be conducted by the Technical Education and Skills Development Authority (TESDA).

“The establishment of the training facility is one way of addressing unemployment problem among the youths in the province,” Solon said.

The governor said the training center will be of great help for those out-of-school youths who want to undergo skills training and accreditation from TESDA, and land employment locally or abroad.

The local government of Malapatan has allocated P4 million as counterpart for the acquisition of the 1,939-square meter lot in Barangay Tuyan as site for the training center.
