MARKET shoppers were urged to visit the Department of Agriculture (DA)-Central Visayas office at DA RF07 Complex, Maguikay, Mandaue City, as the agency launched Monday, May 30, the "Tabo sa DA."

DA-Central Visayas officer-in-charge and Director Joel Elumba said the activity will run from May 30 to June 2, from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.

It is in line with the culmination of the Farmers and Fisherfolk Month, which the country celebrates every May.

Elumba said the Tabo sa DA is open for everyone to visit and see different agricultural products, such as fresh fruits, vegetables, and local delicacies from Cebu, Bohol, Siquijor, and Negros.

He said the event aims to support the production of Central Visayas’ local farmers that will help industrialize and modernize agriculture.

The tabo (market) features 13 stalls and all of the products available are being sold at low prices, even lower than those sold in public markets, said Elumba.

Other services are also being offered, including veterinary services, pest diagnostics, and a trade fair and exhibits.

"I would like everybody to come and see the products and of course buy them as well. It would really help our local farmers, and the goods are cheaper," said Elumba.
