Cebuano big man Barkley Eboña and veteran guard Jvee Casio has been acquired by the Blackwater Bossing from the Alaska Aces in exchange for Mike Tolomia and a second round pick in the 2022 PBA Draft.

The deal was greenlit by the PBA trade committee on Tuesday night, thereby opening a new chapter in the Cebuano’s career, which got off to a fantastic start when he was named to the 2020 All-Rookie Team after a stellar debut for the Aces.

The 24-year old, who previously played for the Cebu Institute of Technology-University, is set to become a key cog for a Blackwater squad that has not won a single game in 19 straight games in a horrendous slump that dates back to the 2020 PBA Philippine Cup.

Eboña averaged seven points and three rebounds during his rookie season. However, he only managed to play six games in the 2021 Philippine Cup after being hampered by a shoulder injury.

Alaska head coach Jeffrey Cariaso is confident that Eboña will find his footing at Blackwater. He also thanked the 6-foot-6 forward for his contributions to the Aces.

“Barkley on the other hand has a very promising career ahead. Adapting quickly to the PBA will contribute significantly to his future. Coupled with a good attitude, he is a team player to the utmost with contagious positivity. Thanks as well to Barkley for being part of the Alaska family,” Cariaso said in an article on (JNP)
