Filipina tennis sensation Alex Eala has been seeded second in the 2021 US Open Juniors tennis championships, which starts on September 6 at the Billie Jean King National Tennis Center in New York City.

The 16-year old Eala is hoping that the momentum that she gained at the JA Trofeo Bonfiglio in Milan last month would help propel her to her very first singles grand slam trophy. She won both the singles and doubles competitions in Milan to boost her to the world no. 2 ranking, right behind Victoria Jimenez Kasintseva of Andorra.

Eala already has two grand slam trophies in her collection. She won the 2021 French Open Juniors Doubles championships back in June with Russian partner Oksana Selekhmeteva. Her first grand slam title came in 2020 when she emerged victorious in the 2020 Australian Open Juniors Doubles with Indonesian netter Priska Nugroho. (JNP)
