THE duo of Ruel Algufera and triathlete Jeffrey Codina ruled the 16-kilometer category of the 2019 Kasama Run on Sunday, Nov. 17, 2019, at the SM City Cebu in North Reclamation Area.
Algufera and Codina breasted the tape in 1 hour, 7 minutes and 57 seconds to win the men’s title in a dominating fashion. The pair of Gabe Branzuela and Carlo Abapo came second at 1:17:10 and partners Jimmy Yu and Danilo Agosto finished third at 1:21:59.
Genita Bitor and Diana Balungcas won the women’s sideat1:40:18, outlasting the pair of Ivy Kyono and Gay Colina by just 39 seconds. Lynelyn Malaki and Rosanna Raniego finished third at 1:46:10.
Partners Azlan Pagay and Ruffa Sorongon topped the mixed division at 1:21:29. Charalyn Flores and Junery Andales came second at 1:36:48 and Maribel and Achilles Suarez settled for third place at 1:39:50.
In the 10K race, Jerome Casinillo and Jerome Sayre clocked in at 39:39 to win the men’s division, Evamae Villarin and Cherry Andrin finished in 47:26 to top the women’s side, while Karl Johansen and Julie Thim timed in at 1:06:10 to rule the mixed division. (RSC)
