An American punk band called Converge took to Facebook over the weekend to dodge complaints from Filipinos who have mistakenly thought they were the internet service provider.
Damn. Do some research first, Pinoys.
In a post on their official account, the group said that they are still a “hardcore band.”
“Covid has not forced us to become an internet provider in the Philippines yet, but we hope everyone over there gets their internet access back,” the group said.
“While you’re here though click the link to our webstore and grab yourself a cool T-shirt or something,” it cheekily added to its post, which has been shared almost 8,000 times.
The post included a screenshot of a few of the comments they have received, many of which were written in the Filipino language. One person wrote, “Hey, you f*ckers, what happened [to my internet]?”
Converge’s statement prompted a certain Michael John Torcuator to say, “I apologize for the mistaken identity. These people are so fired up due to the bad service they’ve received from the ISP with a similar namesake.”
Aw. Well, at least the band is getting some free publicity, no?
