Rumors surfaced of trouble in paradise when Bea Alonzo posted a cryptic message on a black background on social media.
The viral post read: “You can't make the same mistake twice, the second time you make it, it's not a mistake anymore, it's a choice. ENOUGH.”
Fans quickly speculated that the post alluded to her then boyfriend Gerald Anderson, who had been seen together with another woman, Julia Barretto. Anderson had been accused of “ghosting” Alonzo before the scandal broke up.
Outside her love life, Alonzo appeared to have better success in her professional and personal lives.
Fans are raving about her horror film “Eerie” being streamed on Netflix. She was named as one of the awardees of “The Asian Stars: Up Next”, which recognizes breakout stars from Asia. Alonzo joined a scriptwriting workshop from renowned writer Ricky Lee, expressing her interest in writing her own movie.
After almost two years since Liza Soberano was announced to play the new Darna, the Kapamilya actress decided to withdraw from the movie project in April after she had not fully recovered from a finger bone injury. Soberano suffered the fracture while filming “Bagani” in 2018. Liza said the bones on her right index finger were crushed, and she has undergone surgery twice already.
Soberano flew to the United States to undergo a third surgery on her broken finger in May. She was forced to have more surgery after it was discovered that she had bone infection.
In spite of the injury, Soberano’s absence from the limelight prompted some to speculate that she is pregnant.
In August 2019, Soberano became a student again pursuing a degree in psychology.
In early 2019, Liza Soberano and Enrique Gil revealed that they have been together for more than two years.

After Liza Soberano backed out of the Darna movie, Star Cinema tapped newcomer Jane de Leon to be newest actress to play the famous Filipino superhero, besting hundreds of other potential stars who auditioned for the role.
To prepare for the role, de Leon has been taking advice from former “Darna” actresses. She also discussed the role with Soberano.
Included in de Leon’s acting credits are movies such as “Walwal” and “The Debuntante” and TV shows such as “Ipaglaban Mo”, “La Luna Sangre” and “Halik”. The Laguna native is an animal lover.
Josefina Loisa Francisco Andalio, more popularly known as Loisa Andalio, went viral after the release of a video scandal that alleged her involvement.
Many celebrities took to social media to show support for Andalio after the video scandal became a trending topic.
Andalio’s acting credits include “Maalaala Mo Kaya: Jersey,” “The General's Daughter,” and “Past, Present, Perfect?” and “James and Pat and Dave”.
Andalio became a household name when she joined Pinoy Big Brother in 2014.
Actress and model Ivana Alawi became controversial when an escort service website claimed the actress can be hired for an hour for P2.6 million or P4.7 million for two hours.
Nevertheless, Alawi dismissed the ad that claims that she is offering escort services as “fake news”.
Alawi said the claims of the website were so ridiculous and turned sarcastic asking if there’s a tax on the booking.
Alawi admitted she loves to wear sexy clothes but has her limits.
Kapuso stars Andrea Torres and Derek Ramsay confirmed in September that they are in a relationship.
Ramsay said there was an instant connection between them when they first met during GMA-7’s station ID saying the relationship “flowed naturally.”
The couple starred in GMA-7’s TV series “The Better Woman” where the two celebrities hit it off almost immediately. Torres was rumored to have caused the split between Ramsay and former girlfriend Joanne Villablanca after 6 years of dating.
Ramsay, however, dismissed the accusations that Torres was the reason for his breakup with Villablanca.
Forbes Asia named Angel Locsin in its annual “Heroes of Philanthropy” list.
Locsin was recognized by the magazine for her donation of more than P1 million toward the survivors of the 2019 Mindanao earthquakes.
Locsin joins an illustrious company of “billionaires, entrepreneurs, and celebrities across the region who are committed to solving some of the most pressing issues facing the Asia-Pacific.”
Locsin took to social media in June to announce her engagement with Neil Arce.
Kapamilya star Anne Curtis announced on social media in November that she was on her fifth month of pregnancy. The actress shared a video captioning it, “I think you should know something... Another reason to love November.”
Curtis stirred controversy in August after she shared a poster to promote her movie with Marco Gumabao “Just A Stranger”. The promotional material showed the lead stars in a suggestive position.
Success followed Kathryn Bernardo in 2019 after she decided to focus on a solo career and put her popular love team with reel- and real-life partner Daniel Padilla on the backburner.
Her movie “Hello, Love, Goodbye” with Alden Richards became the highest grossing Filipino film by earning P880.6 million at the box office. Bernardo broke the previous box office record held by her 2018 movie “The Hows of Us”. Bernardo now holds the distinction of being the first and only Filipino actress to earn more P800 million each for two movies.
For her performance in “The Hows of Us,” Bernardo was honored with two Best Actress awards in 2019 – one from The Eddys and another from the The Star Awards.
Bernardo is expected to resume her collaboration with Padilla in 2020 with a new TV series.
Catriona Gray ended her reign as Miss Universe when she crowned her successor Zozibini Tunzi of South Africa at the 2019 pageant in December.
But perhaps the passing of the beauty crown pales in comparison with the news that she ended her six-year relationship with Clint Bondad.
Gray is set to pursue a career in music and release a new book.
