Angel Locsin opened up about her 94-year-old father Angelo Colmenares testing positive for COVID-19 on Instagram on Monday (September 12).

In a post that has since been deleted, the actress showed a photo and video of him being taken into an ambulance, admitting that her father’s condition has left her feeling “helpless.”

“It’s been a week of feeling helpless. Imagine having [COVID-19] at 94. Now imagine being blind in unfamiliar surroundings,” Angel said.

She went on to encourage her fans and people with disabilities (PWDs) who are “fighting their battles alone” amid the pandemic.

“So many realizations during this pandemic. We all have our battles, but some definitely more than others,” she added. “To the PWDs and everyone fighting their battles alone, kapit (hold on)! This too shall pass.”

The actress made a similar post on Facebook on September 8.

Following her update on her father's health, sympathetic messages poured in from her fellow celebrities.

“Praying for you, Daddy! Dito lang kaming lahat (We are all here) praying for you,” actress Dimples Romana, one of Angel’s closest friends.

“We know you’re such a fighter. Laban (Fight)!” wrote Iza Calzado, a fellow Darna actress.

Judy Ann Santos, Jodi Sta. Maria, Alessandra De Rossi, and Bea Alonzo were among the other celebrities who have shown their support for Angel and her family.

In an Instagram story, Angel thanked her well-wishers.
