Animal technician, beautician nabbed for 'shabu' in Toledo

An animal technician and a beautician were arrested during a buybust operation in Toledo City, midwest Cebu Saturday morning, June 25, 2022.

Master Sergeant Leodines Leduna, team leader of the Drug Enforcement Unit of Toledo City Police Station, identified the suspects as John Roderick Autentico Sollano, 42, and Rutchen Baliguat Buglosa, 39, both residents of Barangay Das, Toledo City.

Seized from their possession were 24 sachets containing alleged shabu weighing around 100 grams with a street value of P680,816, P700 believed to be proceeds from the illegal drug trade and drug paraphernalia.

Leduna said they conducted the buybust operation with the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency in Central Visayas (PDEA 7) against the suspects after receiving reports about their involvement in illegal drug activities.

Leduna said that Sollano and Buglosa were close friends. They were arrested at 4:45 a.m of June 25 in Sollano's home.

The suspects will be facing charges in violation of RA 9165 or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002. (GDC)
