The results are in for the tech categories in Digital Spy's 2019 Reader Awards!
It's been another big year for Apple, the trillion-dollar tech giant winning the best tech product for the second year in a row. But it certainly wasn't an emphatic victory for the iPhone 11 Pro Max, with Nintendo hot on its heels in second place with the Switch Lite.

Best Tech Product
Winner: iPhone 11 Pro Max
For the second year on the bounce, Apple takes the top prize in the best product category with the iPhone 11 Pro Max. But it was a closely run race, with the Nintendo Switch Lite just three votes behind.

Biggest Tech Fail
Winner: Heathrow drone strike
Heathrow Airport was brought to a standstill earlier this year when climate change activists unleashed their drones and caused severe flight disruption – so it's only right that it takes the top spot in the biggest tech fail category.

Best New App
Winner: Harry Potter: Wizards Unite
Google Assistant may have more practical uses than Harry Potter: Wizards Unite, but that didn't stop the mobile game from storming to victory in the best new app category.

Winner: Pokémon Sword and Shield
Death Stranding grabbed all of the headlines when it arrived this year, but clearly you lot were unimpressed with Hideo Kojima's first project since leaving Konami, the action game finishing fourth.
But it was a very different story for Pokémon Sword and Shield, which you crowned your clear winner.

Best Social Network
Despite a surge in TikTok action over the past 12 months, it wasn't to be for the video-sharing app, which came in fifth. Instagram, however, is sitting pretty in first place.

Winner: Crying with laughter
The crying with laughter emoji stormed to victory in this category, scooping 38% of the overall vote.
