The ARQ Sports-Cokaliong stomped the Lite Shipping Corp., 96-54, in the quarterfinals to book a spot in the semifinals of the Metro Cebu Basketball League Season 6 on Sunday at the City Sports Club-Cebu basketball court.

They will next take on the reigning champions Sherilin Plastics, which routed the Artera Builders, 83-63, in their quarterfinal showdown.

John Elmer Villabrille celebrated his birthday in style, scoring 21 points and hauling down eight rebounds to tow ARQ Sports-Cokaliong to the convincing victory. Former University of the Visayas star Jerome Napao had a double-double of 18 points and 10 rebounds even as Elddie Cabahug notched 11 markers.

Meanwhile, Sherilin uncorked a 31-11 run in the fourth canto to turn a close match into a lopsided one. Tied at 52-all heading to the final stanza, Sherilin picked their game up and left Artera in the dust to get the win and advance to the Final Four.

Albert Ardiente had 22 points, two rebounds, two assists, and three steals to lead Sherilin, while James Ferraren chipped in 13 points and 10 rebounds. Zylle Cabellon also contributed 11 points and six assists.

The other semifinals match-up will see Truck N’ Trail (TNT) facing off against the Oninz General Merchandise.

Truck N’ Trail downed Brownian Records, 89-72. The game was hardly in doubt as TNT zoomed off to a huge 23-point advantage, 45-22, at halftime. EJ Conahap paced TNT with 20 points, while Jeric Gonzaga added 14. Baruk Ceniza and Paolo Dalumpines added 12 apiece for TNT.

Oninz slipped past Aquilla Transport Services, 84-80, thanks to Zaionyl Rosano’s 20 points and seven rebounds. Dave Butaya added 14.
