ASOP Grand Finals song entries improve every year – resident judge

MANILA, Philippines – A Song of Praise (ASOP) Grand Finals is just a few days away.

The program’s resident judge, Doc Mon del Rosario said ASOP Year 6 grand finals will surely be exciting especially since the song entries level up every year.

“When I say ‘improving’, in terms of storytelling, the story is clear. And in terms of musicality, the structure is good. In terms of their rhyming schemes, exploring different genres, it becomes more aggressive. So I can say they are maturing,” Del Rosario said.

Doktor Musiko added he has witnessed how ASOP contributed in the country’s music industry in the past 6 years.

“Having worked with a lot of talented composers, a lot of very talented interpreters, I feel heartened. In fact, I feel very encouraged; my hopes get higher every year. If you think of praise music in the Philippines, it’s impossible to not think of ASOP. That’s ASOP contribution,” Del Rosario added.
