THE municipal government of Asturias town, midwest Cebu has initiated an investigation concerning why their local dog pound had left some of their rescued stray dogs unfed.

Asturias Mayor Jose Antonio Pintor issued Executive Order No. 46-A on Nov. 4, 2021, ordering the creation of an investigating committee to probe the incident.

Pintor has appointed Asturias town councilor Augustus Kiamco to oversee the investigating body. Kiamco is chairman of the Municipal Council's committee on agriculture.

Kiamco and his team were tasked to render a report with a recommendation within 20 on how to improve the management of their local pound.

Last week, a viral video surfaced on social media showing rescued dogs at Asturias' local pound feeding on dead dogs.

The video drew the ire of netizens who believed that the dogs were not fed and were not properly taken care of by the pound's personnel. (JKV)
