The reigning Cebu Schools Athletic Foundation Inc. (Cesafi) high school champions SHS-Ateneo de Cebu Magis Eagles have bolstered their roster with the addition of towering 6-foot-8 center Ramon Salvoro and two Filipino-Australian recruits in forward Jacob Winen and Latrell Lorenzo.
Salvoro is a 15-year old, left-handed center from Tabunok in Talisay City. He previously played for La Salle Greenhills before opting to return home where he is figured to fill in the gap left by Reymark Narbasa, who had already graduated.
Winen on the other hand, is a 16-year old forward who stands 6-foot-3. He previously went to Elizabeth Murdoch College in Melbourne. Joining him from Australia is guard Latrell Lorenzo. A 5-foot-8 speedster, Lorenzo previously attended Carrum Downs Secondary College in Melbourne and is expected to add even more firepower to a Magis Eagles backcourt that already has standout Mike Boniel.
Ateneo de Cebu athletic director Rico Navarro however, clarified that at the moment, their basketball team’s pool is composed of around 20-23 players and that nobody, not even the varsity team from last season, is guaranteed of a spot.
Navarro added they will only decide on an official roster when a tournament comes up. At the moment, the 2020 season of the Cesafi has already been cancelled. (JNP)
