Ateneo de Cebu’s Jared Bahay, Ramon Salvoro make Gilas Pilipinas Youth pool

ATENEO de Cebu standouts Jared Bahay and Ramon Salvoro will be part of the Gilas Pilipinas Youth pool that is preparing to compete in the FIBA Under-18 Asian Championships in Tehran, Iran from August 21 to 28, 2022.

Bahay will be joined by Salvoro, his 6-foot-8 teammate on the Magis Eagles squad along with a couple more Cebuanos in current Ateneo de Manila high school ace Kristian Porter and La Salle stud Seven Gagate.

Also in the pool are La Salle aces EJ Abadam, Mur Alao, Ethan Alian, Luis Pablo, LA Andres, and Joshua Coronel. Rounding out the team are Kyle Gamber, Mason Amos, Kobe Demisana, James Nacua, Xavier Cho, and Nathan Victoria.

Josh Reyes will still be the coach of the boy’s team.

The Philippines is vying for one of four spots to the Under-19 World Cup that are up for grabs in this competition.

The Gilas Youth will have their work cut out for them as they compete against Australia, China, Chinese-Taipei, India, Indonesia, Iran, Japan, South Korea, Lebanon, New Zealand, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, and Syria.
