SINGAPORE —Avoid Commonwealth Lane and Commonwealth Drive due to the possibility of flash floods, said the Public Utilities Board (PUB) on Friday afternoon (1 October).

The advisory posted on its Facebook page at 4.50pm said that water levels in drains and canals have reached 90 per cent in the areas due to heavy rain.

"Please avoid the areas for the next one hour," it added.

Heavy rain with gusty winds is expected over many areas of Singapore from 5pm to 6pm, according to the National Environment Agency.
