FOLLOWING a successful debut in the United States this month, James Bacon immediately returning to action against Cloetis Pendarvis at the Manual Artime Community Center Theater in Miami, Florida.

The 30-year-old Bacon, a native of Mandaue City, is fresh from a second round knockout of Gonzalo Carlos Dallera in the same venue in Miami just last Oct. 17.

After the win, Bacon immediately went back to training at the Moro’s Gym in Miami, where fellow Sanman Promotion pugs Mark Bernaldez, Reymart Gaballo and John Vincent Moralde also train at.

Bacon should be in a stiffer task against Pendarvis, who’s the former World Boxing Council (WBC) USNBC light welterweight champion.

The 34-year-old Pendarvis lost back-to-back. After a layoff for more than a year, he fought once in 2019 and dropped a third round stoppage in the hands of Serhii Bohachuk. He returned in 2020 after yet another hiatus for more than a year and lost by unanimous decision to Francisco Emanuel Torres.

Pendarvis, however, has fought a few credible names. He beat a 39-year-old former world title contender Michael Clark and lost to former interim World Boxing Association (WBA) light welterweight champion Mauricio Herrera.

Bacon, a former ALA Boy, is 24-4 with 16 knockouts. Pendarvis is 21-6-2 with nine knockouts. (EKA)
