CEBUANO welterweight James Bacon won his second straight fight in the US after knocking out Roque Junco in two rounds on Saturday, Nov. 21, 2020, at the Media Plus Studio in Hialeah, Florida.
Bacon had a strong start landing a thudding overhand right to the head of Junco. He also tagged Junco with a vicious body shot. However, Junco was very aggressive and kept on pressing the action.
Junco landed some combinations of his own in the second round. As Junco was throwing combinations, Bacon countered with a left hook to the jaw that knocked the 29-year-old Argentinean out cold.
The referee stopped the fight in the 2:33 mark of the second round.
Bacon won his second straight fight since the pandemic broke out. He saw action last month and knocked out Gonzalo Dallera.
The 30-year-old Bacon is 25-4 with 17 knockouts, while Junco dropped to 10-7-1 with six knockouts.
Bacon, who’s promoted by Gen. Santos City-based Sanman Promotions, is currently based in Miami, training at the Moro Boxing Gym under the tutelage of Cuban coach Moro Fernandez. Also training with him in Miami are fellow Sanman boxers Mark Bernaldez, Reymart Gaballo and John Vincent Moralde. (EKA)
