BARANGAY Ginebra can now breathe a lot easier after it signed high-flying forward Japeth Aguilar to a brand-new, three-year deal, ensuring the Kings’ frontcourt remains one of the most talented in the league.

According to a report on, Aguilar will be receiving a salary that is similar to that of Cebuano June Mar Fajardo, who plays for the San Miguel Beermen. Fajardo is deemed to be the highest-paid player in the entire PBA.

Moreover, this development means that Aguilar will remain with the Kings, shunning the advances of several Japanese B.League teams, who reportedly were dangling salaries as much as $40,000 per month.

Aguilar’s contract extension also means he will continue to team up with fellow Gilas standout, Christian Standhardinger, who has reportedly also agreed to a three-year contract extension.
