OPERATIVES of the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency Central Visayas (PDEA 7) raided a drug den in Sitio Galaxy, Barangay Tangke, Talisay City, Cebu around 2 p.m. on Monday, November 14, 2022.

They arrested Juneth Bacalso, the 64-year-old drug den maintainer; Rynyl Juezan, a 43-year-old job-order employee of the Tangke Barangay Hall; Gleeny Cabalan, 52; Thom Michael Bacalso, 22; and Eduardo Rabaya, a 52-year-old e-trike driver.

They caught Juezan, Cabalan, Bacalso and Rabayo allegedly in the act of inhaling shabu.

They recovered four sachets of shabu weighing 12 grams with a market value of P81,600, the buy-bust money and illegal drug paraphernalia from the suspects.

PDEA 7 operatives and members of the Negros Oriental Police Provincial Office raided another drug den in Barangay Bajumpandan, Dumaguete City at 12:25 p.m. on Tuesday, November 15, where they arrested 50-year-old Joselito Pada Catubig, a known faith healer in the area; Reymark Mariño, 20; Chino Bomongcag, 21; and Eduardo Diamante, a 46-year-old construction worker.

They seized three sachets of shabu weighing 10 grams with a market value of P68,000, the buy-bust money and illegal drug paraphernalia from the suspects.

According to Leia Alcantara, PDEA 7 information officer, a concerned citizen tipped them off about the illegal activities going on inside the drug den in Barangay Bajumpandan.

They then conducted a case build-up for two weeks before launching the raid, she said.

Meanwhile, Alcantara said both drug dens could go through 20 to 30 grams of shabu every week.

She said the nine arrested suspects will be charged with violating Republic Act 9165, or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002. (AYB/PJB)
