Bargain Hunt has announced three new presenters will be joining its line-up of hosts.

Antiques experts Roo Irvine, Danny Sebastian and Caroline Hawley are set to join existing hosts Natasha Raskin Sharp, Christina Trevanion, Eric Knowles and Charlie Ross fronting episodes on rotation.

The BBC One show which sees teams of two antique enthusiasts try to find the most profitable bargain at fairs and car boot sales was originally hosted by David Dickinson between 2000 and 2003, then by Tim Wonnacott until 2015, and has seen a rolling rota of industry experts presenting since then.

Although the new presenters have appeared before as experts, this is the first time they'll get their own episodes.

Irvine, whose debut episode airs on Monday, said: “I’m loving every second of it. Bargain Hunt has such a happy, chilled vibe and that’s down to the contestants and the crew.

“It’s like a big family. They say ‘do what you love and you’ll never do a day’s work again’ – that is definitely me.”

Sebastian, who loves upcycling and repurposing collectibles, said it is a “dream come true” to present Bargain Hunt.

He said: “I’m absolutely over the moon, it’s beautiful really. I always thought I’d love to do this job, I’m so extremely fortunate to be given the opportunity.

“It’s a fabulous show, very iconic and presenting it has given me a real kick.”

In her debut episode on 27 June, Hawley gets up close to a Spitfire at RAF Cosford in Shropshire, describing her admiration for female pilots during the Second World War and the young men who flew them into battle.

She said: “I find it incredibly moving to sit in the cockpit where a young man sat in the war, very, very moving. Spine tingling. I feel very privileged to do that, very lucky.

“Presenting Bargain Hunt is absolutely amazing. I enjoy it so much. It’s fantastic to meet so many people with a passion for their subject, whatever that is. I love it all.”

Bargain Hunt is on BBC One Monday to Friday at 12.15pm and Saturday at 1.15pm.
