Batches 1998 and 1999 overcame their respective opponents in the semifinals to arrange a finals showdown in the University of Southern Philippines Foundation Alumni Association Panthers Cup Season 2 Inter-Batch Basketball Tournament last Sunday at the Capitol Parish Gym.

Batch 1998 ousted the defending champions 1992, 57-35. Peter Tabasa led the way with 17 points. Meanwhile, 1999 routed 1995, 46-33, to scure the other finals seat in Bracket A.

In Bracket B, Batch 2006 defeated 2011, 65-53, to make their way to the finals. Jam Ferraren had 20 points and six rebounds in the victory. However, 2006 will have to wait and see who their finals foe will be after Batch 2001 bested 2008, 52-44. Troy Mercader shone with a complete stat line of 21 points, three rebounds, two assists, two steals, and a block.

2008, though, had a twice-to-beat advantage, which means they will battle 2001 one more time with the winner moving on to the finals.
