Batch 2008 routs 2004 to stay perfect in USPF alumni hoops

Batch 2008 kept their immaculate record after defeating Batch 2004, 87-70, in the University of Southern Philippines Foundation Alumni Association Panthers Cup Season 2 Inter-Batch Basketball Tournament last Sunday at the Capitol Parish Gym.

Junas Misa had a complete ballgame as he compiled 17 points, three rebounds, two assists, and two steals to prop 2008’s record to 6-0 in Bracket B.

In other Bracket B games, Batch 2006 trounced 2011, 71-57. Sam Hermosa led the way with 21 points, six rebounds, and two steals, as his team improved to 6-1.

Batch 2001 prevailed over 2014, 70-58, to bump their record to 5-2. Jesan Dabuco had 18 points to lead the way for 2001.

Batch 2002 also picked up their second win of the competition, trouncing batch 2000, 64-59. Caloy Ferolino had 14 points and two steals in the victory.

Over in Bracket A, Batches 1992, 1998, and 1999 remain at the top after wins over their respective foes.

Batch 1992 derailed Batch 1996, 69-55, with Rey Dagopioso tallying 15 points. Meanwhile, Batch 1998 took down Batch 1994, 47-36, as Peter Tabasa had 12 markers. Batch 1999 beat 1995, 67-55, thanks to Luis Enero’s 16 markers.

Batches 1992, 1998, and 1999 all hold identical 5-1 records.

And lastly, Batch 1991 broke into the win column for the first time this season after defeating Batch 1997, 67-66. Christian Bacus had 21 points to help give his batch the victory.
