Baybay water crisis end vowed

Baybay City, Leyte — City Mayor Carmen L.Cari has assured residents of Barangay Maitum in this city that the water crisis in the area will soon be over as the city government is now in the process of constructing a water intake tank meant to solving their lack of water supply problem.

Cari said the city is now ensuring a new source of water for the barangay after the its water connection was cut off by supporters of a losing candidate for barangay chairman last Oct. 29, 2013.

For almost a week now, the city has been providing water to residents of Barangay Maitum for free. Said Cari, “That source of water has been there for several years now even when I was not yet city mayor. It was only cut off by irate supporters of a loser in the election for barangay captain last Oct. 28 because they could not accept the defeat of their candidate.”
