GMA teased a photo featuring their new talent on Wednesday (June 30) with the caption, "One of the top performers in Philippine showbiz will be a Kapuso." Three letters in a red-colored font stood out from the rest of the teaser. It said "BE A," seemingly hinting at the actress’ name. According to the network’s Instagram post, the star will make her first official appearance as a Kapuso today (July 1) at 4 p.m. via GMA’s Facebook page.
While the teaser art card only showed a portion of the actress’ face in the black-and-white photo, the network’s fans were already certain of her identity. Some were quick to point out the striking resemblance of the woman in the photo to Bea. "Bea yan. Mata pa lang," one of them commented. (That’s Bea. Just look at the eye.)
Bea's Instagram story from last Tuesday (June 29), fuelled fans’ speculations further, as she posted a similar black-and-white shot of herself from a session with stylist Pam Quinones and photographer Mark Nicdao.
As early as now, many fans are already hoping that Bea would be cast alongside John Lloyd Cruz, her longtime onscreen partner who had just recently returned to showbiz from a long hiatus.
“Sana may project agad si [Bea] and John Lloyd (I hope Bea and John Lloyd appear together as soon as possible),” Instagram user @zheilix22 commented on the teaser.
Bea established her career in the show business industry under Star Magic, the talent management arm of GMA’s rival network, ABS -CBN. Star Magic paved the way for Bea to star in successful TV and film projects including “It Might Be You,” “One More Chance,” and “Four Sisters and a Wedding.”
