Rain or Shine big man Beau Belga and Alaska’s Vic Manuel were named the Philippine Basketball Association’s co-Players of the Week for their superb performance for the period of October 26-November 1.

Before the league took a break last Friday, both Belga and Manuel submitted incredible performances that helped their teams stay within striking distance of the leaders in the standings.

Manuel, nicknamed the “Muscle Man,” bullied his way to 21.0 points, seven rebounds, and 2.5 assists as the Aces went unbeaten streak during the week to climb to a 5-3 (win-loss) card.

The Philippine School of Business Administration (PSBA) alum tallied 18 markers and seven boards in Alaska’s 99-96 win over Terrafirma, before outlasting close pal Calvin Abueva and Phoenix Super LPG with a 105-97 victory behind a 24-point, seven-rebound outing.

Belga, on the other hand, pumped in 20 points, 10 rebounds, and four assists in Rain or Shine’s lone yet showstopping 85-82 overtime victory over Barangay Ginebra prior to the break.

The former Philippine Christian University standout capped his exploits with five straight points in the extra session, none bigger than the dagger trey he shot in during the final minute of the win that propelled the Elasto Painters to solo second spot at 4-1. (JNP)
