KEVIN Belingon’s fifth fight with ONE Championship bantamweight king Bibiano Fernandes may just have to wait after the Filipino striker suffered a second round knockout loss to former UFC fighter John Lineker in the main event of ONE: Inside the Marix III on Friday, Nov. 13, 2020, at the Singapore Indoor Stadium in Singapore.

The 33-year-old Belingon had much success early in the first round by landing his leg kicks. Lineker, however, let his hands go and landed some heavy punch combinations to the head of Belingon, which opened up two cuts above the area of his left eye.

Linker showcased his power and his top-class boxing skills by continuing to land his combinations. The 30-year-old Brazilian landed a vicious uppercut that dropped Belingon and followed it up with some heavy punches that forced the referee to stop it in the 1:16 mark of the second round.

Belingon suffered his third straight loss and dropped to 20-8, while Lineker improved to 33-9 and is in the running for a shot at his fellow Brazilian Fernandes.

Belingon’s teammates Geje Eustaquio and Lito Adiwang had mixed results in the undercard. The 31-year-old Eustaquio (14-8) had a successful return to the cage after a long hiatus with a unanimous decision win over tough South Korean Song Min Jong (11-8).

Adiwang (11-3), on the other hand, suffered a close split decision loss to Shooto strawweight champion Hiroba Minowa (12-2). (EKA)
