Biñan City, Laguna — A police captain was gunned down and his daughter seriously wounded in an ambush staged by two armed men riding in tandem on a motorcycle in Barangay Sto. Domingo, this city, yesterday morning.
Supt. Rizalito Gapas, city chief of police, identified the slain victim as Senior Inspector Jose Jerry Uy, 49, assigned as chief of three units of the city police – administration, patrol, and traffic.
PO3 Tristan Enriquez, officer-on-case, said Uy was driving a motorcycle with his daughter Debbie, 17, on their way to Perpetual Help System-Jonelta, here, when one of the two suspects armed with cal.45 pistol repeatedly shot the victims at close range.
Uy succumbed to bullet wounds in the neck, leg and chest.
His daughter, a 2nd year Criminology student of Perpetual Help System-Jonelta, was also shot and wounded and is set to undergo a surgical operation.
