Bike rider dies after hitting fire hydrant in Bogo

A 23-YEAR-OLD motorcycle rider died after hitting a fire hydrant along the national highway in Barangay Cogon, Bogo City at 2:10 a.m. Friday, May 27, 2022.

The victim identified as Jhon Pagubo Nuñez, a construction worker from Purok 1, Tagnonok, Barangay Salag, Tabogon town, reportedly overtook a tanker truck but instead crashed into a fire hydrant after losing control of his motorcycle, according to Lieutenant Colonel Florendo Fajardo, chief of Bogo City Police Station.

The victim, who was not wearing a helmet, died instantly due to the impact.

He was brought to the nearest hospital but was declared dead by attending physician.

The police are still determining whether the victim was under the influence of liquor during the incident, as he attended a fiesta celebration in Bogo. (GPL, TPT)
