BIT-IC crushes Mater Dei in Bohol schools tilt

THE BIT International College handed the Mater Dei College a 90-74 beating in the Seniors division of the Bohol Schools Athletic Association Season 9 basketball tournament at the Holy Name University gym in Tagbilaran City on Tuesday, November 12, 2019.

Jerryco Penales spearheaded BIT IC’s attack with a near double-double of 27 points and nine rebounds as well as three assists, a steal and four blocked shots.

BIT IC took control of the game in the third canto as they outscored Mater Dei, 24-14, en route to establishing a 64-48 lead heading to the last 10 minutes of action.

Mark Jay Bual and Kaiser Manlapat chipped in 15 points each while Erniejay Libres added 12 markers to help BIT IC close out their elimination round with a 7-1 win-loss card, good for the second spot right behind the unbeaten PMI.

Jenesis Apolonias scored 23 points for Mater Dei, which ended up with an even 4-4 card.

In the Juniors division, PMI trounced the Victoriano D. Tirol Advanced Learning Center, 109 -43, to end up with a 4-6 slate. Kim Owen Lao-Ay had a complete ballgame with 26 points, seven rebounds, four assists, a block and a remarkable five steals.

Christian Casia and Socorro Tagaro III also pumped in 17 points each while RJ Dosdos had 14 markers.

Ramwell Ediong also reached double-figures with 11.

VDT closed out the season with just one win against nine losses.(SunStar Cebu)
