4 Hong Kong and Macau pool parties worth getting wet for

Hong Kong and Macau pool parties have become a trendy way to cool off as the mercury climbs in the region.

Some of the sleekest hotel pools are playing host to bikinied party-goers, offering good tunes, a fashionable scene and occasionally the chance to make it on the big screen. Here's a rundown of the biggest Hong Kong and Macau pool parties.

W Summer Series

Stay dry and look great around the W Hotel's pool.

The Hong Kong pool party at the Wet Pool Deck perched on the 76th floor of the W Hotel grants a superb view of Victoria Harbour.

Six parties are planned for this summer between June to October, each one themed -- last year there was Wet Sand, Wet Glow and Wet Rehab. Expect svelte model-types and fashionistas and don't be surprised if attendees don't go further than poking a toe into the pool.

Kicking off this year's season is a White Party on June 25. Better prep the bleach-wash cycle and book waxing appointments now.

Why you should go: To see and be seen and reap the rewards of all that gym time.

PUSH presents Splash

Detox or retox at the PUSH pool parties.

This one is yet to be confirmed, as organizers are still locking down the exact dates and venue for the Hong Kong pool parties series. But judging from last year, the Splash events by party people PUSH were the most popular for detox and recovery on Sundays.

Held last year at The Crowne Plaza's heart-stopping glass-edged pool where it feels as though you can dive right into Victoria Harbour, the Splash pool parties washed away many a hangover and reset countless Hong Kong brains for the forthcoming grueling week at work.

Although dates aren't confirmed, judging by last year's schedule we can expect a Splash party every other Sunday afternoon during peak summer months.

Why you should go: Take a break from Top 40 hits with the PUSH team who spin great techno tracks.

Hard Rock Hotel pool parties

Club Cubic and a pool make for a great combo at the Hard Rock Hotel.

Expect to party like a rock star at the Hard Rock Hotel Macau pool parties. Big name international DJs will be present both poolside and in Club Cubic, which is located just a paddle away from the pool.

MTV Asia will be covering the Hard Rock's poolside events for the show MTV Seen, hosted by MTV Asia's VJs.

The pool party series launched on May 21 and upcoming parties are scheduled for July 23 and September 24. Each will feature a prominent guest DJ and an event at Club Cubic.

Why you should go: For a chance to get on TV and show all your bikinied-glory.

Hed Kandi Pool Parties

Hed Kandi's pool parties have become old standbys for the summer season.

This will be a house-tastic affair, propelled by Hed Kandi. The brand has lent itself to everything from parties and house music compilations to clothing, fragrances and even hair straighteners. You might find use for the last item once you finally dry off from this pool party.

Happening at The Venetian pools, this Macau pool party starts June 11. Regular gigs to go down throughout the summer season.

Why you should go: Hed Kandi's Macau pool parties have been known to go all out in their party gimmicks, hiring stilt walkers and dancers to entertain guests.
