Travel Bucket List

If you appreciate nature at its best and want to go off the beaten path, visit Sohoton Cove National Park, Bucas Grande Islands. These are jungle-clad limestone karst islands scattered over the crystalline waters off Socorro, Siargao, Surigao del Norte.

Apart from soaking in the sights and scenery, there are various caves, lakes and lagoons with their own attractions. Get up close and personal with stingless golden jellyfish at Tojoman Lagoon.

Also feel the serenity at Tiktikan Lake and explore the various caves nearby. Take a dip in the glowing waters of Hagukan Cave. Appreciate the various flora and fauna: ironwood trees, pitcher plants, green crested lizards, butterflies, and birds above and multicolored fishes in the coral gardens below.

From Manila, you can fly to Surigao and drive to Hayanggabon Port at Claver from which you can take a short boat ride to the islands. If you're already in Siargao, you can hire a boat to take you to Bucas Grande. There are daily flights to Siargao from Cebu.
